Sunday evening me and the boy went to Coldstone to get some ice cream. Afterwards, per my suggestion we went to the park up the hill just as the sun was setting. It was pretty chilly but totally worth it. I told Ben we need to make more trips to this park. Seriously its a 5 minute walk from our apartment and we never come!

Spring Has Sprung
There are many reasons I prefer California as opposed to Arizona. Not only do we not have ridiculous racial profiling laws (here's looking at you Jan Brewer) but, we have some beautiful gorgeous scenery. Flowers are blooming every where you go and today I finally got to take pictures to document. And the best part is I didn't melt while I was out at 4 o'clock in the afternoon.
As I was walking a older man saw me taking pics. He got super excited as he caught me admiring his manicured garden and started telling me all about his plants. He pointed to his house and told me that his grandmother lived there until she was 95-years-old and that she passed away there. The rose bush in his front yard was named "Grandma" in her honor. He also showed me some awesome black lillies he was fixing to plant. I told him I wish I had a front yard to tend to but lamented that I only had a porch. He then told me I should get a big fish tank and just grow a bunch of plants in it. He told me fish tanks work great and said he knew this because he used to grow his own weed in them. (Yes thats what he said!) See this is why I need to get out of the house more. Then a cop drove by in his police car and smiled at me. I didn't even know cops smiled!
Then as I was walking back to my car I saw this fat little muffin. It must be nice to be cat and not feel embarassed about being so fat. I mean really he was just relishing in his plump, full-figured self. If he's not bringing sexy back then I want to know who is!
Frida Tales
Let it be known that Frida is a trader. Never have I been her master, but really I don't dismiss her reasons. I annoy Frida incessantly. I pick her up even though she hates it and give her loud kisses on her furry head. She used to prefer my brother over me, then when he moved out she moved on to my mother, and then mom moved and well it was just Frida and Grandma. So it comes to no surprise that when I bring her up here to sunny California she instantly takes to Benny. Sure she likes me just fine but she goes gaga over him. This is where I miss Freddie! He was no trader.
But alas, thats just how she is! I think that if Benny moved out and I just lived by myself she would make her chewed up, beat up mouse her master before she ever let me.
Anyways, I let the little trader go outside sans leash for the first time and she had a wonderful time rolling in dirt, smelling other dirty cats, and trying to eat plants she shouldn't. Heres a little video of the rolling around part!

She is also the most spoiled cat ever because she has a bed in the living room for when she wants to hang out with us and then she just got a new bed for her primary sleeping quarters, also known as my closet.

This note from Janet has been sitting on the counter since last week. I didn't have the heart to just throw it away because I love notes from people. So decided to take a picture of it and store it away.
(Note from Ben's Mom 4/28/2010)
This day was particulary funny because she got lost (again!) and I found her walking up the hill backwards (backwards? yes. I still don't know why) But I was happy to see her mood changed quickly when she saw that I had put the pork shoulder in the slow cooker and it was almost done so she would get to make Benny and I a good bye dinner. It was really sweet of her and I wish that monday through wednesday I could have spent more time with her but sometimes life's obligations just get in the way.

Lake Elizabeth
Today I went to walk at Lake Elizabeth with my friend Crystal. We used to go about 4 times a week but since my school schedule has changed I don't really get to see her as much. But today, since my Finance class is cancelled I drove down to Fremont and we walked the 2 mile radius. Right now its beautiful because the mama geese and mama ducks are all having their babies and they are just adorable! Pretty soon the squirrel babies should be coming out. They are so teeny, tiny, and cute.
I am looking forward to finishing up this quarter. Its been rough. Taking economics, finance, and a math management course, wasn't really the most ideal set up but after this quarter it should be smooth sailing.
Benny got a job at school! Yay. The only down side is that he will have to work weekends but I guess sometimes we have to make sacrifices.
In a month my brother, uncle, grandpa, and dad are going to visit. I am SO excited : )

Adventures in San Francisco with Mama Janet
Sunday we had a wonderful day. I am glad that during the weekend the weather was beautiful. Sunny, breeze, and warm. Really what more could you ask for.
In the morning Mama Janet made us a breakfast of champions! I really am going to miss having her as my personal home chef. This is true.I really didn't know how many arguments she spared me and Ben before we moved up here to California and moi had to do most of the cooking. I had it made back in Tucson going over to Ben's house al the time, dinner ready! But I guess I had to grow up at some point.
Anyways, Sunday we went up to Mill Valley to explore Muir Woods. It was awesome because it happened to be free parking and fee free day! Then after that we went to a Puerto Rican restaurant called Sol Food. Me and Ben love it there. The atmosphere, the food, and the drinks! We crossed on the Golden Gate bridge and Janet loved it.
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday weren't too eventful for Janet. Unfortunately me and Ben had to go to work and school so she was on house arrest. But tuesday I took her thrifting!
Here are some pics of the trip : )

Mama's Here
Today Benny's Mama arrived! We are so excited. Benny was especially happy because she hasn't been up here since she helped us move here. Today we went to Chinatown and we were there for probably about 5 hours. Its really hard to feel like you've seen everything at Chinatown because there are so many shops and knick knacks but we got a lot of cute stuff. I got some lovely feather headbands I am in loooove with. We walked until out feeties hurt. We also found a very yummy Chinese restaurant too and the food was deeeelicious! I really enjoyed our day in San Fran and the weather was beautiful. Now Benny's mom is sound asleep.

Finally a Sunny Day
Lately the weather has been so depressing. The sun hasn't come out to say hello for very long. Finally today, the sun came out and shined all day. I finally got a worthy dose of vitamin D hee hee.
Today wasn't very eventful I just went to school then went to walk around Lake Elizabeth with Crystal then I went back to school.
But I was happy to see that despite a raccoon dumping my flower pot upside down the seeds are starting to sprout! Maybe I do have a chance at not being labeled a plant killer for the rest of my life? Hmm??? We'll see.
I even tended to this little basil pre-seeded and potted plant but four hours later a big ass turkey came and knocked it down. That basil just wasn't meant to live.
Speaking of turkey's they were out in full swing today. Its mating season. Which means we've been hearing some loud gobble-gobbles. (Pow-chika-wow-wow)
Time is going by so fast. We have less than a year left to live here and I can't help but prematurely start to miss things. But at the same time I am excited for what the future has in store.
